Good point. We also need to understand that copyright law, and enactment of copyright law are not the same across the globe. Moreover, with every website having cookies, and tracking tools, along with various other data scraping tools out there, information spreads out without the knowledge of the creator, and someone else gets credit for the work. Without further specifics, it is also one of the major reasons for the spread of inequality. By the way, various major companies that use data extraction tools are in a way getting into the area of copyright infringement.
